A MCA Group Social Responsibility Project. Located in the parish of Santa Marinha, in Guimarães, The Chapel of S. Roque dates to the 16th century and is linked to the scourge of the plague, recognizing S. Roque as his holy protector and was where the population took refuge to fight epidemics.
As a living memory of history, this chapel continues to be a place of worship today, so it is urgent to take care of its preservation. In 2005 it underwent a requalification promoted by the municipality, and at the end of 2019 MCA Grupo carried out requalification works.
Within the scope of its social responsibility actions, MCA Grupo, together with the institution Fábrica da Igreja Paroquial de Santa Marinha da Costa and with the collaboration of priest Carlos, rehabilitated the São Roque Chapel in Costa – Guimarães.
This aid, more specifically in the replacement of the chapel roof, windows, door, among others, which were in a poor state of repair, has already been completed and was inaugurated at the end of 2019.
