The municipality of Cártama, province of Malaga, will have a new High Performance Logistics Park for operators using e-commerce platforms.
The Logistics Park totals 85,000 m2.
On the 26th of October, the presentation ceremony of the Parque Logístico Fahala took place, with the presence of the Mayor of Cártama, Jorge Gallardo, the CEO of Newdock (Goldman Sachs), Fátima Sáez, the COO Urban Development of the MCA GROUP, Hugo Borges, Juan Alfonso Sanz from BCM, architect Ramón Navarro, several councilors of the Municipality, representatives and employees of the companies that are working on this project, as well as the press.
Jorge Gallardo, President of the Community, dedicated words of thanks to the family that promoted the land and invested in the locality: “This important project will host different companies and represents an investment – just in construction – of almost 17 million euros.”
“It’s possibly the largest private investment made in the Municipality to date”. He also highlighted the importance of the positive economic impact that the Logistic Hub will bring to the Community, since it will generate, in several areas, half a thousand direct and qualified jobs.
The Fahala Logistics Hub includes the construction of 57,000 m2 distributed in 3 state-of-the-art warehouses, with storage and office areas (with 85,000 m2 in total), that are being executed under the LEED Platinum Certification standards (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
The logistics park will favor natural light, self-sufficiency energy and the efficient use of water. It will be the first building in Andalusia with this type of certification – Platinum.
This ambitious project was made possible by the strategic partnership between Goldman Sachs Asset Management via Newdock and the MCA Group through its subsidiary BCM.
